Jeff Rusinow

Chairman of the Board

Jeff Rusinow has been an active member of the early-stage venture capital community in the Midwest for more than a decade since 2000, when he founded Milwaukee’s first angel network, Silicon Pastures. Prior to that, Mr. Rusinow spent 22 years in retail management, holding senior executive positions at Macy’s, Gimbel’s, Hudson Bay Company and most recently, Kohl’s Department Stores, where he served as an Executive Vice President until leaving corporate mainstream in 2000.

Since then, Mr. Rusinow has served on the Board of Directors for a number of private and public companies, as well as non-profit organizations. Of note, Jeff has been the Chairman and Lead Investor in two startups that were acquired by Fortune 500 companies. The first of these was Internet retailer BuySeasons, Inc., which owns and manages the largest retailer of costumes in the world, BuySeasons was acquired in 2006 by Liberty Media. Second, Jeff also served as Chairman and Lead Investor of ModernMed, a healthcare services company, which was sold to DaVita in 2012.

In addition to his role as Chairman and Lead Investor with Aurora Spectral Technologies, Mr. Rusinow is also presently an investor and board member of Death’s Door Spirits, and residential mortgage banker Thompson Kane, both based in Madison, Wisconsin. Passionate about nature, Jeff is also currently on the board of the American Bird Conservancy and the Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters.

Jeff has both a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Virginia. He resides in Scottsdale, Arizona and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
